Pops Peterson has been a professional writer since the early 1970’s, when his byline first appeared in such publications as The Village Voice, Andy Warhol’s Interview and The New York Times. His interview subjects include Robert Redford, Gene Hackman, James Earl Jones and Liza Minnelli. For nine years his column, On the Aisle, was featured in Essence Magazine, in which he reviewed film, theater and dance, and interviewed African-American stars. An experienced jurist, Pops voted nine years running in the Tony Awards and more recently, has judged art competitions sponsored by The Massachusetts Office on Disability and The Norman Rockwell Museum. Pops is also a nationally celebrated visual artist whose photo-paintings have launched his career as a public speaker on art, activism and civil rights. His multimedia presentations, including Reinventing Rockwell, Portraits of Freedom and The Making of a Protest Artists, are popular events in major museums, public schools and community groups.

Susan Tobocman has been a full-time performer, vocalist, composer, arranger, lyricist, and producer since 1992. She has toured extensively, beginning with the Talking Heads' spin-off band, Tom Tom Club. Susan has performed at many of New York City's most revered venues, including Birdland, Smalls, Mezzrow, Highline Ballroom, CBGB, and Cornelia Street Cafe, to name but a few -- sharing the stage with luminaries such as the late Barry Harris and Doc Cheatham, and so many more. Susan has six CDs under her name as a leader, and currently records with the eponymous Japanese record label Disk Union. In her early years, Susan was the first-place recipient of the National Scholastic Writing Award for Poetry and soon after attended the graduate program at Columbia University at the age of 17. Susan continues to dedicate her time and passions to all things music.
